Sustainable Materials

We take pride in our commitment to sustainability by sourcing our recycled plastic materials locally in Bali, Indonesia, from local neighborhoods, waste collectors, schools, waste banks, and in collaboration with reputable waste management companies. The recycled plastic undergoes a meticulous selection, shredding, and cleaning process to ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability. This not only supports the local economy but also significantly reduces our carbon footprint.

Why Choose BUMBERSHOOTZ?

Bumbershootz sunglasses are handcrafted in Bali from recycled plastic — no shortcuts, no outsourcing. Each pair helps reduce waste, support local skills, and build a real circular economy. With one-of-a-kind color patterns, lightweight comfort, polarized clarity, and full UV protection, they’re made to last through everyday life and outdoor adventures. More than just sunglasses, they’re stylish, sustainable, and meaningful — eyewear you’ll love to wear or give as a gift with purpose.

What can be recycled?

Not all plastics are the same — but many can be given a second life. At Bumbershootz, we focus on three types:

PP (Polypropylene – ♷ 5) → Found in food containers, yogurt tubs, ice cream cups, and drink cups. We recycle it into our sunglasses frames.

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene – ♴ 2) → Found in bottle caps, shampoo bottles, and detergent containers. We transform it into eco-accessories like carabiners, shaped keychains, hair combs, coasters and travel ID tags

LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene – ♶ 4) → Found in plastic bags, squeezable bottles, and packaging film. We give it a new life as coasters, shaped keychains, hair combs and travel ID tags.
